AFFORDABLE RENTALS

Housing Opportunities offers one, two and three bedroom rentals in Porter and LaPorte County. Units are available to applicants who meet the income guidelines set by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) – see eligibility requirements below.

*   Affordable Rental Program – This program helps people get off the streets and is the first step in breaking the cycle of homelessness. Housing Opportunities provides permanent, affordable rentals, with 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units in Portage, Valparaiso, and Michigan City, Indiana.

      Program Eligibility Requirements :  Applicants must be at or below 60% of the area median income.

                         Rents and Responsibilities:   Tenant pays for rent and some utilities depending on the location.

sun  Rental & Tenancy Counseling Program - Our housing counselors can provide additional information to help renters make informed decisions about housing options.  Services include understanding lease agreements, responsibilities of landlords and tenants, budgeting to help avoid evictions, and explaining renters insurance, etc.
